Now, siblings Kylie, Ryan and Jake Moxham have stepped to purchase the business – which will reopen on Friday, March 17 at 9am.

Sister Kylie said: “We would like to ask anyone with a gift voucher from the previous owners to contact us via email with their details and the value of the voucher.

“We are new owners and it is a different business but we would like to know how many are out there so that we can decide what action to take with them, our email is the

The Oliver Hare cafe was a popular fixture in Leighton Buzzard but suffered a devastating setback in February 2016 when a digger reversed into one of its walls during a ramraid on nearby Santander bank.

Extensive repairs were carried out to the 17th century grade II listed building and it reopened in May, lasting a little over six months.

Now, the Moxhams have renamed the cafe, ‘The Oliver & Hare’. Ryan and Jake have also run the Axe & Compass pub in Heath and Reach.

Kylie added: “The Oliver & Hare will be a family run business with over 30 years experience in the hospitality trade between us. We’ll be bringing a great place to eat and drink to the heart of the Leighton Buzzard and we are very excited to bring something different to the town.

“The majority of our ingredients and products will be sourced within 15 miles of the premises, helping to support local businesses.”
