That’s because on February 6, Leighton’s 99p Stores shop reopened as Poundland!

A spokesman for Poundland said: “We are pleased to announce that a new store in Leighton Buzzard opened on the 6th February 2016. The new store is part of the company’s 99p conversion, following the buy-out in 2015.”

The spokesman failed to comment on what would change following the transformation of the former Woolworths building – apart from the name and the penny price hike.
