Drinking fountains turned off at Leighton Buzzard parks to prevent cold weather damage

Visitors to parks across Leighton Buzzard are being advised to bring their own drinking water over the festive period as fountains are being temporarily turned off.

Leighton-Linslade Town Council explained the water fountains were being turned off as ‘a precaution’ against any extreme weather.

The council wrote: "Please note that all water fountains in our parks will be temporarily switched off until the New Year.

"This is a necessary precaution to protect against burst pipes and damage caused by freezing temperatures and winter weather.

"We kindly ask park visitors to plan ahead and bring their own drinking water during this time."
