Leighton Buzzard hosting screening of People’s Emergency Briefing film as part of Great Big Green Week
A screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing film is taking place in Leighton Buzzard next month, which as being held as part of events to coincide with The Great Big Green Week.
The film is described as ‘presenting a clear, measured overview of how the climate and nature crisis is affecting everyday life in Britain’ and was conceived and developed by Ben Carey and Henrik Delehag from climate comms lab Utopia Bureau.

Screenings are taking place across the country, and in Leighton Buzzard it is being shown at a free, ticketed event held at Leighton Buzzard Library Theatre on Thursday June 4 at 7.30pm.
The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing, which was given to politicians in Westminster in November 2025.
It features scientific content from the Westminster event and details why this is relevant to factors such as extreme weather, food security, health and cost of living.
This is combined with reactions from members of the public and some more familiar faces, which is designed to help the audience process the information on a more human level.
For the Leighton Buzzard screening, Member of Parliament for Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard Alex Mayer has been invited.
The event is being organised by Totally Locally, and the screening of the film will be followed by a ‘structured discussion’ on the topics covered.
Free tickets for the Leighton Buzzard screening can be booked via the Ticketsolve platform or by conducting the library theatre’s box office on 0300 300 8125.
More than 800 screenings are currently organised across the country, while the National Emergency Briefing has also written an open letter to the Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer calling on the Government to deliver a televised national emergency briefing on the subject.
