Katharine was running in memory of her 20-year-old nephew who she lost to suicide, she was also running in memory of friends children who also took their own lives.

She said: "I’m absolutely blown away with how much I have raised for Young Minds £3,550!

"The marathon was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The route was well signed, the weather was too hot but I’m so proud that I finished it.

"I found it so difficult not having other runners and crowds to cheer me on. It took me 5 hrs 57 mins.

"The Leighton and Linslade Carnival Committee donated a cheque for £150.00. People have been so generous. With match funding from Morrisons I’ve raised £7,100."

Her aim for the challenge was to raise as much money as possible and also awareness of the help that is available.

Katharine added: "I hope not only have I raised much needed funds but also raised awareness of Young Minds Trust and the support that is out there for young people.
