More than 100 recruits were in competition for the trophy

A Linslade man has been awarded a prestigious trophy in recognition of his training at RAF Halton.

At the passing out ceremony of Pearson 706 Intake, weapons systems operator Air Recruit (AR) Hill not only graduated from the Recruit Training Squadron but was also awarded ‘The Lord Trenchard Trophy for the Most Outstanding Recruit on the Intake’.

AR Hill, 23, said: "The course was tough at times but enjoyable nonetheless. My personal highlight was the consolidation of practical training phase where I got to put the knowledge and skills I’d acquired to the test in a field exercise.”

He will be starting the next phase of his training soon before getting stuck into his role.

The reviewing officer was RAF Halton’s station commander Group Captain Garwood, who said: "Remember what you’ve learnt here, always do the right thing even on a difficult day, and when no one is watching, but above all, enjoy the adventure.”
