M1 work could delay drivers in Bedfordshire this week

Bedfordshire's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

They are expected to cause slight delays – with drivers facing holdups of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that some closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M1, to 5am October 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 10 to junction 13 - lane closure for drainage on behalf of National Highways.

.• A1081, to 5am December 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 10 to junction 13 - entry slip road closures. Lane closures and diversion routes due to inspection/survey works on behalf of National Highways.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M1, to 5am October 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound,, junction 11A to junction 12 - hard shoulder closure and lane closures due to emergency barrier/fence safety repair works on behalf of Ringway.

• M1, from 10pm October 25 to 5am October 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 12 to junction 13 - hard shoulder lane closure for communications on behalf of National Highways.

• M1, from 10pm October 26 to 5am October 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 12 to junction 13 - hard shoulder closure due to communications works on behalf of Ringway.

• M1, from 10pm October 30 to 5am October 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 12 to junction 13 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.

• M1, from 10pm October 30 to 5am October 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound,, junction 11 to junction 11A - hard shoulder closure.

• M1, from 10pm November 1 to 5am November 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound,, junction 14 to junction 13.

• M1, from 10pm November 2 to 5am November 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 12 to junction 13.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
