Do you know someone who volunteers for the benefit of our community and is a real unknown and unsung hero, making a difference to people’s lives in our town?
We all know people who quietly give their time to worthy causes. How often do these volunteers receive recognition for what they do? Now is your chance to make others aware of the work others do and to ensure they receive the recognition and appreciation they deserve.

Hide AdYou may know someone who listens to children reading in the local school, a school governor or someone who is a member of their school PTA, raising funds which make a real difference to children’s experiences at school.
You might know someone who is a volunteer firefighter or first aider, or someone who coaches sports for adults or children and is a real asset to their club.
You might know someone with green fingers who plants, weeds, waters and litter picks so that our town looks beautiful for everyone to enjoy.
You might know of someone who is involved in one of the uniformed groups in the town – Scouting, Girlguiding, Girl’s Brigade, Cadets and more. Or you may know someone who is not part of any formal group but who quietly gives their time to help their neighbours or those in need.

Up to three local volunteers will be recognised each year for their huge contribution. The first awards are set to take place in February 2021 and the closing date for nominations is October 31, 2020. Don’t delay – nominate someone you know who’s made a difference now!
