Plot of land near Leighton Buzzard that was home to former cricket club up for sale
A plot of land near Leighton Buzzard that was the home of Eggington Foresters Cricket Club, which has now folded, is up for sale.
The grassed parcel of land which is approximately 4.6 acres, and includes a single-storey brick building and dedicated car park, is one of several lots set to be auctioned by Robinson & Hall Auctions in Milton Keynes on February 25.

The site, which benefits from direct road frontage, and access via double medal gates has a guide price of £230,000.
The clubhouse, which dates from the late 1960s, provides around 2,000 square feet of accommodation, with features including a covered veranda, main club and bar area, kitchen, two dressing rooms, toilets, umpire room and storage room.
The auctioneers, who are selling on behalf of the trustees, say they are aware of cracks to some of the internal walls and some external brickwork.
Eggington Foresters Cricket Club had four teams, which competed in both the Bedfordshire County Cricket League and the Four Counties Cricket League.
A post on the cricket club’s Facebook page confirmed the club had folded, with a comment explaining: “Our pavilion had been subsiding for a number of years now and our buildings insurance would not cover it as it was an existing problem.
“Private contractors were quoting us in excess of £100,000 which we simply could not afford therefore the committee decided to fold the club as the league would not allow us to continue to play as having a pavilion was compulsory.
“The trustees have now decided to sell the land and donate the money to charity.”
