David, whose fundraising total stands at £1,225, said: “It was a pretty tough day, especially mid afternoon when the temperature hit 25oC and there was no shade anywhere on the field.
“I really appreciated the help of my family and the small group of club members from Leighton Buzzard AC who helped through the day with getting me through this. I would also like to thank Vandyke Upper School for allowing me to use the playing field after ensuring I could comply with the government guidelines.

“I would have liked to have hit 100km, but I was very happy with 95 considering the conditions. Doing the laps was a mental struggle as at some points you ‘zone out’, so I gladly had some turns built into the course which made me have to think about it.
“My fundraising has exceeded the target and is still rising which has made all the effort worthwhile, and it also raised awareness of the work of the two charities involved.”
