Prince William has been labelled '˜workshy' in national media after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge enjoyed a holiday break in the Alpine village of Courchevel, France.

The private trip comes after Prince William was accused of being ‘workshy’ when it was revealed he worked 80 hours a month as an ambulance pilot with East Anglian Air Ambulance, which covers Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

East Anglian Air Ambulance also link up with the East of England Air Ambulance - which covers Hertfordshire - to provide highly skilled critical care paramedics who fly with the charity.

According to reports in the national press, a senior aide said Prince William works the hours so he can combine the job with his royal duties and charity work.

Claiming the Duke of Cambridge’s hours were in line with Civil Aviation Authority regulations, the aide insisted he had the backing of both his grandmother and father.

But unconfirmed sources have previously complained about his lack of flying time. CAA regulations limit flying hours to 90 in any 28 consecutive days.

Prince William’s 80-hour month is roughly half of a full-time, 40-hour-a-week job but he donates his salary to charity.
