Public flock to Leighton's feast of food!

Running from 11am to 4pm, the food festival saw stalls set up along the length of the High Street as the crowds basked in the sunshine.

After mayor Steve Cotter’s opening address, the Market Cross stage hosted a range of entertainment including a Caribbean Steel Band, Undercoverz tribute band, and Dance Energie.

The real dilemma for visitors was what dish to tuck into, with Indian, English, German, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Mexican and many others to taste.

The day also included cookery demonstrations, a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, plus a sushi masterclass for the adults and pizza masterclasses for children.

Youngsters were also challenged to take on the climbing wall, get glammed up with glitter tattoos, bounce on trampolines and meet the characters from Alice in Wonderland.

A number of seating areas will be available whether you bring along a picnic or enjoy the tasty treats on offer.
