Rushmere Country Park will close for the remainder of the day as concerns grow over falling trees.
The Greensand Trust announced the park would close this afternoon and a ranger will inspect the conditions tomorrow morning.
A spokesman said: “Because of the high winds, it makes it very dangerous for people to be walking in the park.”
Elsewhere, Central Bedfordshire Council announced waste collections will continue as normal.
However, they advised residents to move bins and sacks back within properties as soon as possible after collection to avoid them bolowing away.
A CBC spokesman said: “If your scheduled collection is Friday it may be beneficial to not leave your bin or sacks out overnight but place it out first thing in the morning just in case its blown over or away during the night.
“Collections will start as normal at 7am in the morning.”
