Reclaim Life co-founder and chairman Linda Sear said: “We’re going from strength to strength but we have quite a long waiting list.

“That’s why we’re on a recruitment drive so we can offer a quicker service to local people.”

A new training programme has been organised for September/October.

The four-day course is essential for anyone who wants to become a volunteer life coach for the not-for-profit organisation.

It teaches participants how to promote emotional wellbeing and focus on solutions in a therapeutic context. And it’s run by Diana Crook and Jim Gaudoin, who are both life coaches themselves.

Reclaim Life offers five free sessons of life coaching to anyone suffering from mental and emotional distress.

The sessions concentrate on practical help, enabling clients to move on as quickly as possible.

Part of the cost of the course could be reimbursed to those who complete six months of voluntary service.

Linda says: “Many of our life coaches tell us what an amazing sense of satisfaction they get from helping people get their lives back. Some say it’s a real buzz and others that they’ve made changes in their own lives after being on the course.”

Volunteers must provide references and have CRB checks.
