Spotlight on Leighton Buzzard Society at annual parish meeting

Leighton-Linslade's Annual Parish Meeting is being held tonight (Monday, March 13) from 7.30pm until 9pm and is open to all residents of the parish to attend.

This year, the meeting will take place at Pages Park Pavilion in Pages Park, Billington Road. The hall provides a larger meeting space than the council chamber at the White House and the council hopes to welcome as many local residents as possible to the event. The nearest car park is at The Vynes.

This year representatives of the Leighton Buzzard Society will give a brief presentation about the society’s 50-year history.

A council spokesman said: “Why not come along and find out more about what these enthusiastic volunteers are doing for our town and maybe consider becoming a member of the organisation?”

A brief talk will be given by town council officers about recent and future projects, after which there will be an opportunity for the public to ask questions about any matter which is the responsibility of the town council.

The council is responsible for many aspects of the parish including parks and open spaces, play areas, allotments, cemeteries, community events, community grants and Christmas lighting.
