Uni technical college revs up with open days

A SERIES of open days is being held to promote the new Central Bedfordshire University Technical College (UTC).

The UTC will open in Houghton Regis in September this year.

A chance to look under the bonnet of a Ferrari is one of the attractions at the events.

UTC principal Robert Shaw said: “Any young person considering an engineering career should come and see us. We offer fantastic unique opportunities for students starting Year 10 and Year 12 in September, giving them the skills and qualifications that employers need.”

At each event, visitors will be able to view the Ferrari’s impressive V8 engine and even have a chance to win a ride in the striking vehicle.

Two open events have already taken place this week.

But there’s still an opportunity to attend open events on Tuesday, May 22, from 3.30pm-5.30pm at the UTC on the Kingsland Campus, Parkside Drive, Houghton Regis and on Thursday, May 24, from 6pm-8pm at Park Town Community Centre in Bailey Street, Luton.
