Sacrifice Pro Wrestling is on a mission to raise as much money as possible for Leighton Linslade Homeless Shelter and it will host its next event at Cedars Upper Scool on Sunday, February 10.

Organiser Lee Malone told the LBO: “We’re determined to make this the best event we’ve ever held.”

A previous event scheduled for December 27 at Cedars Upper School was suddenly cancelled after a malicious phonecall was made to the venue by a caller impersonating a Central Beds Council officer.

The caller claimed Lee didn’t have the correct licence and there would be a large fine to pay if the event went ahead.

Lee said: “It was absolutely heartbreaking because we had the venue booked, people had already travelled from Leeds and Sheffield, and we’d sold more tickets than ever before.

“We had organised an amazing event.

“Luckily, we rang around and managed to reschedule for February 10.

“The majority of the wrestlers we had lined up are still able to do the show and we’ve printed new posters.

“We were all devastated but we’ve managed to pull it together.”

Many of the fans who purchased tickets for the December 27 event have waived their refunds, meaning £600 has already gone to LLHS.

And the wrestling group, which was founded by Lee two-and-a-half years ago, has also been able to donate £200 of clothing to the shelter.

Lee added: “We know that we are doing an amazing thing for the community.

“There is so much negativity in the world and it’s not often that you can create something out of nothing - especially an event like this, which is so easy and accessible to fans.”

Performers at the Sacrifice Pro Wrestling event include Lee “Hustle” Malone, The Unbreakables, Chase Williams and Brick Lane.

Previous events have raised money for causes such as Dogs 4 Good, Autism Bedfordshire, Stonewall and Young Minds.

Sacrifice Pro Wrestling takes place at Cedars Upper School on Sunday, February 10, from 3pm until 6pm, with tickets priced at £5 for children, £7 for adults, or four for £20. Tickets can be purchased at www.hopesacrifice.bigcartel.com or by searching “Sacrifice Pro Wrestling” on Facebook.
