M&S is bringing back the infamous 'Love Sausage' - just in time for Valentine's Day

The infamous 'Love Sausage' is back on Marks and Spencer shelves for Valentine's Day 2020, following viral success last year.

In 2019, customers went wild for the UK supermarket's heart-shaped pork sausage, marketed as a dine-in meal for couples on Valentine's Day.

It was reported that the original Love Sausage sold out in a matter of minutes, with huge queues forming in stores across the UK as shoppers rushed to get their hands on the unusual treat.

What is a Love Sausage?

The sausage is infused with a hint of truffle and comes on top of a of baking tray, wrapped in bacon. This year, it is priced at £6 for 458g, making it £1 more expensive than in 2019.

This year's Love Sausage will also be joined in-store by a smaller heart-shaped treat - the 'Give a Little Love Sausage'. This will be a smaller, twin-pack of heart-shaped sausages, touted as ideal for a Valentine's breakfast.

The sausage products will hit shelves on 14 February, and will be available as long as stocks last.

M&S hopes the original Love Sausage and the new Give a Little Love will prove as popular as last year, when the #LoveSausage hashtag went viral on Twitter. In just the first few hours of posting, the company's tweet received over 30k likes.
