Edge positive sign says Alex

THE little bit of edge to the game in Luton Town’s 3-2 home defeat to Gabala on Wednesday night was exactly what Luton needed following their 1-0 loss to Bedford Town the weekend before according to classy midfielder Alex Lawless, writes Mark Wood.

He was at the centre of a slight melee between both sets of players, but he believes that show of passion will be critical to Town’s hopes for next season.

Lawless said: “I think the fact of coming back from losing at Bedford at the weekend second half we lacked a bit of that.

“Coming into this game we knew we needed to step it up a bit. Them having that mentality as well helped and it was a good competitive game. Exactly what we needed. Playing at home as well gives everyone a little but more of a lift when we haven’t played at home for a while.”
