Hide AdFuccillo, 55, who was born in Bedford, has most recently been chief scout at Swansea City, while he also held down the same role at Newcastle United.
He has also worked for Hull City, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Charlton Athletic, before agreeing to return to Kenilworth Road.
Fuccillo said: “I loved my days here as a player but I can honestly say I certainly don’t want to be manager and I don’t think the typical role of director of football works.

“I’m Luton through and through and I’ve been given the chance to come in and be part of the future by helping the board. I can’t wait to get started and I’m looking forward to providing all the support I can to help us regain rightful League status.”
Hatters chief executive Gary Sweet added: “I’ve known Lil for some time, as have a number of board members, and have always enjoyed his company.
