Jonathan Smith: 6: Showed plenty of energy, but didn’t get enough telling tackles in and lacked composure on the ball.
Steve McNulty: 7.5 - Marked Brodie out of the game and has forged a formidable partnership with Lacey at the back.
Jake Howells: 6.5 - Offered a threat on the left and displayed some quick thinking, without ever really getting the space he needed.
Scott Griffiths: 7 - Combative display from the left-back who put in a number of important headers and tackles.
Mark Cullen: 6 - Competed well but lacked service and never looked a real threat when moved to the right in the second half.
Andrew Parry: 6 - Distribution was poor as he sent the ball far too long, far too often, but did battle hard in the middle.
Luke Guttridge: 6.5 - Wasted on the right in the first half and, while sometimes on the periphery, he forced two good stops out of Evans.
Ronnie Henry: 6.5 - Assured presence at right-back as the Hatters kept their eighth clean sheet in 12 games.
Paul Benson: 6 - Isolated up front and given little to feed off of.
Alex Lacey: 7.5 - Young defender didn’t put a foot wrong all afternoon as he dominated the aerial battle.
Andre Gray (sub): 6.5 - Desperately unlucky not to start the game and made a real difference when he did, twice clearing off the line and almost netting a last-gasp winner.
Shaun Whalley (sub): 5 - Substitute hardly saw the ball as Town’s late throw of the dice came to nothing.
