Bookies’ favourite to be crowned Conference top scorer next season Andre Gray is adamant he won’t let the pressure get to me, writes Mark Wood.

The 22-year-old may missed a gilt-edged one-on-one opportunity in the 1-0 victory at Maidenhead United on Saturday and admitted: “I think they would have changed that if they saw that chance I missed earlier! Someone mentioned to me in training the other day but I try not to dwell on it or think about it, obviously it would be great to be top scorer in the league but we will see how it goes.”

Gray top-scored for the Hatters last season with 20 goals in all competitions last season but isn’t setting any targets this time around and admits the pressure to score goals is just part and parcel of being a striker.
