Hide AdGateshead retook the lead through Marwood once more, before O’Donnell’s strike sparked a mini pitch invasion.
After the game, O’Donnell tweeted: “What a day! Incredible game, Incredible atmosphere and an Incredible feeling to score the 3rd goal to send the Heed to Wembley.”
They will now face Cambridge United for a place in the Football League, as the U’s came from 1-0 down to beat FC Halifax Town 2-0 and win the tie 2-1 on aggregate.
