The 28-year-old winger made nine league appearances for the Darts during his three-months at Princes Park and was surprised to be in Saturday’s matchday squad against Nuneaton Town, having only returned to Kenilworth Road the previous Monday.

He said: “I wasn’t expecting it, but you’ve always got to prepare properly. You’ve just got to keep yourself right, because these things happen.

“I’ve spoke to the gaffer, he knows I want to be here.“I’ve got to take the positives, keep my head right, keep going and trying to fight my way back into the team.”

Hatters boss John Still added: “It hasn’t gone for him this year, so he’s got to get back and make it work for him.

“It was a bit of an opportunity for him and he’s got to keep at it.”
