Practice paying off for Hatters after Ipswich win

PRACTICE made perfect for Town during their 2-0 friendly victory over Championship outfit Ipswich Town on Saturday, writes Mike Simmonds.

Centre-half Janos Kovacs capitalised on poor marking by the Tractor Boys to head home twice in either half, something assistant boss Alan Neilson revealed the Hungarian had been working on in training.

He said: “We need to work more on set-pieces for and against. We’ve been working a lot on fitness in pre-season, closing the ball down, working hard for each other, movement of the two or three strikers.

“But we’re working on set-pieces, the defenders have been heading the ball, so it’s worked.”
