Finally winning promotion back to the Football League meant that little bit extra to midfielder Jake Howells.

The 22-year-old is the only member of the squad who was at Kenilworth Road as Town suffered back to back relegations into the Conference after being deducted 30 points by the FA.

Howells, who has now played 276 times for the club, said: “For me, I’ve seen it all happen, we went from League One, League Two and I think it means a bit extra for me personally as I feel it as much as the fans do.

“To win it the way we did and the style we did it is a credit to everyone at the club.”

Howells is now looking forward to League Two and being on an equal footing as the rest of the division, as his last experience saw Town begin on minus 30 points.
