Smith wants to make up for lost time

Town midfielder Jonathan Smith is desperate to make up for lost time next season.

The former York and Swindon player suffered a horrific double leg break during Hatters’ 2-1 win at Barnet on Boxing Day.

He made a remarkable return as a sub in the final game of the campaign at Hyde and said: “It was an amazing moment for me to come on in the last game and get the support that I got, I’ll never forget it.

“I’d just like to thank everyone, it was amazing all the way through, not just from the fans, from the lads and manager.

“I can’t wait to get back on the pitch as I want to make up for what I’ve missed out on this season.”
