Hatters’ squad members believe there is no reason why they can’t mount a second successive promotion charge in League Two next season.

Town lifted the Skrill Premier title at Kenilworth Road on Monday and will hope to follow in the footsteps of both Crawley and Stevenage, who went straight up again after winning the Conference.

Captain Ronnie Henry was part of the Boro side who won promotion again and believes Town have an even better chance than his old club.

He said: “This club can definitely move forward, especially with the foundations it’s got now with the gaffer.

“I did it with Stevenage, we went up to League One, with this fanbase we can go further.”

Popular defender Steve McNulty also tasted promotion with former Conference champions Fleetwood Town and added: “Take it from me, we won’t be going there to make the numbers up. We’ve got a gaffer behind us and this club isn’t going to stand still.”
