Catch of the day coming to local pub music weekend

Enjoy a little bit of Northern soul, motown and rock as a pub in Leighton Buzzard caters for people of all music tastes.

First up to appear at The Wheatsheaf is The Catch playing on Friday April 29.

They are a three piece covers and give their own twist on them. Artists such as the Scissor Sisters, Jacki Wilson, Earth Wind & Fire, The Pointer Sisters, Isley Brothers, The Supremes and many, many more will be covered by the popular band.

It’s been six months since this band played the venue, but they always have a great reception and is the perfect chance to dust off the dancing shoes ready for a boogie.

The following day sees a Juicebox Live Event with three bands playing at the pub.

First up is The Vision. Originally formed in 2006, but splitting in 2008 after a whirlwind couple of years, this four piece indie and alternative rock group from Northampton have now reformed.

Back with some of their old songs, but also to create new music and giving new experiences.

The Vision are Steve Wells on lead vocals and bass guitar, Antony Baker on guitar and backing vocals, Lee Wells on synths etc, and Ian Drewery on drums and percussion.

Leighton Buzzard band Colony are next up, a four piece band from Leighton Buzzard. They have their ‘Black Sunday EP released shortly.

The band is made up of Kristian Arnold. Craig Walter. Chris Lipscombe and Danilo Palazzese.

Indie rock band Ali in the Jungle are the final act of the night. The four piece band from Milton Keynes make a return to the town having featured in the Oxjam music sessions in Leighton Buzzard.

They are Tim on vocals and piano and keyboards, Sam on bass guitar, Chris on lead guitar and backing vocals and Ali on the drums.

Music starts at around 9.30pm on both nights and admission is free.
