Former High Sheriff appointed as Ambassador for Buckinghamshire Scouts
Former High Sheriff, Pippa Kirkbride, has recently been appointed as an Ambassador for Buckinghamshire Scouts

The appointment of Pippa an exciting and meaningful step in strengthening Buckinghamshire Scouts’ connections across the county. In her role as High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, Pippa demonstrated a clear commitment to championing community service, civic responsibility, and the vital work of volunteers. These values closely align with the ethos and mission of Buckinghamshire Scouts.
James Williamson, Lead Volunteer for Buckinghamshire Scouts said, “Throughout her tenure as High Sheriff, Pippa has devoted significant time and energy to supporting the voluntary and community sector across Buckinghamshire. She has consistently highlighted the importance of volunteers who give their time to support young people, strengthen communities, and provide opportunities for personal development. Her advocacy for charitable organisations, youth initiatives, and community groups has helped shine a light on the essential role they play in the life of the County.”
He added, “As Ambassador for Buckinghamshire Scouts, Pippa will bring both visibility and encouragement to the movement. Her role will help celebrate the achievements of thousands of volunteers and young people involved in Scouting across Buckinghamshire. By lending her voice and experience, she will help promote the value of Scouting, encouraging greater recognition of the skills, confidence, and sense of service that the Scouting programme fosters in young people.”
James added, “Pippa’s longstanding dedication to supporting the voluntary sector makes her an ideal advocate for Buckinghamshire Scouts. Her understanding of the challenges and rewards of volunteer-led organisations means she is well placed to champion our work and inspire continued community engagement. Buckinghamshire Scouts are proud to welcome Pippa as our Ambassador, and we look forward to working with her to celebrate and strengthen the contribution Scouting makes to young people and communities throughout the County.”
At her investiture as Ambassador, Pippa said, “Throughout the year I have had the privilege of meeting volunteers across the County. Again and again, I have been reminded that the roots of volunteering so often begin early in life. Very often, they begin in Scouts.” She added, “Scouting gives young people something profoundly important: adventure and skills certainly, but also confidence, belonging and the discovery that they can contribute, lead and care for others. It’s wonderful to see young people stepping forward, supported by dedicated adult volunteers who give their time so generously. I am delighted that this Ambassador role will allow me to continue championing Scouts across our County, visiting Groups and Units, celebrating volunteers and sharing the story of this remarkable movement in the years ahead.”
