With access to a variety of well-priced event décor and supplies on Temu, a Bedfordshire-based event planner brings her clients’ visions to life while allying concerns over cost.

Sharon Dimmock, a 63-year-old event planner in Southcott Village, Leighton Buzzard, is one of the local professionals that residents turn to for help orchestrating a party or a wedding.

Whether it’s for lilac-themed nuptials featuring butterfly accents or a James Bond-themed New Year’s Eve celebration with oversized martini glass decor, Dimmock brings these varying visions to life, all while adhering to set budgets.

With the help of global e-commerce platform Temu, she has been able to source a wide range of affordable décor and supplies for every theme and request.

Most of her business revolves around planning weddings for couples in her community. And increasingly, cost is of utmost concern for many of her clients trying to achieve their dream weddings on a budget, Dimmock said.

Rising living costs are prompting many couples in the UK to rethink their budgets and options.

A 2025 survey by WeddingDates also underlined this pressure, where 65% of couples said that the cost of living has impacted their wedding budget, up from 30% in 2023.

“The minute you mention the word ‘wedding’, everything gets expensive. Temu makes it possible to create something beautiful without spending the earth,” said Dimmock.
