There's no question that Cinderella, star of this year's Leighton Buzzard Drama Group's panto, will be travelling to the ball in considerable style now that her coach has been delivered to the Library Theatre by its creators, the Leighton Buzzard & District Men's Shed.

Decorated in a highly ornate fashion featuring Cinderella's loyal mice friends and topped by a crown befitting a princess, the coach was handed over to Panto Director Kim Aguilar by six Shed members involved in its design and construction; David Beasley, Mick Jones, Shane Davison, John Daniel, Alan Day and Bob Farrer.

Commenting on the show's star prop, Director Kim says: "This was a fantastic opportunity to involve another local voluntary group – Men in Sheds – to create a beautiful Cinderella carriage for the production, which runs from January 9 to 24.

"The team have absolutely exceeded all expectations – the carriage is simply stunning; it's got lights all over it and those little mice are fabulous. It's just beautiful; everything we wanted and so much more. So it's a real big, heartfelt thanks from me and all of the cast for the Shed's wonderful efforts and all the time the team has put in to create this for us – thank you, it's brilliant!"

For the Shed, Trustee Chairman Ian Bickers says: "Producing Cinderella's carriage has been our first major project since we opened last year and it's been amazing to watch how a team has come together from scratch to design and build such a superb coach.

"The commitment to do a first class job, the attention to detail and the camaraderie which has developed as a result are all truly outstanding – it's a real testament to the power of the Men's Shed movement and how it brings people together in productive and positive manner. We're delighted the Drama Group is pleased with the outcome and wish them every success with the production."
