At Leighton Buzzard Photographic Club on Wednesday November 5 we ran our second internal league competition of the 2025-26 season. The set subject, for both prints and projected images, was “Low Light”.

The Programme notes added “Low light can add atmosphere and focus to an image, changing the way we see the scene. Your images need to use limited light to lift the picture above the ordinary. Natural, and artificial lighting, and long exposure are all in scope.”

The entries covered a creatively wide range of subjects and genres.Accordingly, we were treated to a feast of landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, portraits, still life, wildlife, travel, silhouettes, and so much more, in both colour and monochrome.

Our independent CACC judge for the competition was Patrick Seehanach from Watford Camera Club.

The top performers were David Manning ARPS and Wendy Taylor LRPS (prints) and Sally Kitchingman LRPS, Paul Needham, and Sandra Eve (projected images).

We are always keen to share our passion for photography and we provide a warm welcome for new members at our meetings at Greenleas School on Derwent Road. We run a varied programme of activities for photographers of all levels.See our website at lbpc.org.uk for details and join us soon to unleash your own creativity.
