Drivers have complained that the underneath of their cars were scraping the new humps, despite going slowly over them.
But Central Beds Council insist the new bumps meet the approved specifications in height and shape.

Hide AdA Central Beds Council spokesman said: “The new road bumps are wider and have proved more effective in controlling speed. The issue with the old bumps is that cars can straddle them and take them at speed. This section of the road is host to Beaudesert Lower School, so managing speed down to 20mph is a priority here.
“The profile of the hump is designed to an approved specification in terms of height and shape.”
