Families and friends enjoyed a party spirit from June 5 to 7, as the town celebrated Pride, Community Fun Day, the Big Lunch Food Festival and the first concert of Music in the Park.
Food, songs and entertainment were brought "into the heart of the town" - and it is hoped that the community spirit will continue throughout the year.
Newly elected mayor, Councillor Kevin Pughe, said: “This has been a brilliant weekend and it’s just fantastic to see so many people enjoying themselves in the town centre.
"I’d like to thank everyone who helped organise the weekend’s events, as well as everyone who participated and attended."
Leighton Buzzard's third Pride celebrations took place in the High Street on Friday evening (June 5), following two "very successful" events in 2024 and 2025.
The packed entertainment schedule included The Dolly Tribute Show, Queenz The Show, Mama G, and Small Town Boy, bringing "huge energy, dazzling costumes and powerful vocals to the stage".
A range of street food was available from the ever popular Street Food Heroes and there was also a range of stalls and local traders.
A Leighton-Linslade Town Council spokeswoman, said: "There were some fantastic window displays from town centre businesses and a great party atmosphere to help celebrate the event and the start of Pride Month."
Meanwhile, Community Day on Saturday (June 6) "went well", and saw a range of clubs, groups and organisations joining the Charter Market.
The spokeswoman added: "A bit of rain didn’t stop residents turning out to keep the party atmosphere going, with people dancing in the street to the sounds of Chasm and Josie Derland."
On Sunday (June 7) the sun made a re-appearance and the High Street was "packed" with punters attending the hugely popular Big Lunch Food Festival.
The spokeswoman said: "The town centre was transformed into a bustling street festival filled with colour, sound and the aromas of food from around the world.
"There were around 30 world cuisines to choose from, along with a licensed bar, seating throughout the High Street, and craft activities.
"Street theatre added even more excitement, including a spectacular Chinese Dragon performance weaving through the crowds."
At 3pm, the Music in the Park summer programme kicked off with a performance by the Chiltern Hills brass band at the bandstand in Parson’s Close Recreation Ground.
Concerts will continue over the next 14 weeks, culminating in the Last Night of the Proms on Saturday, September 12.
This year, two concerts will take place on Sunday, June 14, with the Hemel Hempstead Band performing in Linslade Recreation Ground from 12.30pm until 2.30pm, and the South Beds Concert Band in the usual 3pm to 5pm slot at Parson’s Close Recreation Ground.
Councillor Pughe concluded: "I’m looking forward to the rest of the summer events programme - and especially to Linslade Canal Festival on Saturday, July 25, at Tiddenfoot Waterside Park.
"Put the date in your diaries now!”
