The restaurant is being run by Jay Jahed Hasan who stepped down from working at the New Spice Lounge in Lake Street, in order to pursue the venture.

Jay has moved to the new business alongside his chef, who was named as the best in Bedfordshire at the 2024/2025 Euro Asia Curry Awards.

In a social media post Jay wrote: "We were hoping to open Olive Lounge restaurant on December 10 but unfortunately we have had a gas leak.

"National Grid are investigating at present and working on it.

"We have been advised the work may take a few weeks due to the Christmas period so there is a delay at present until further notice.

"We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience caused.

"We were very excited to open our new venture from tomorrow but we have taken the decision not to open until the gas leak is resolved fully for safety of our customers and staff."
