Leighton Buzzard sports bar celebrates one-year anniversary

The owners of a Leighton Buzzard sports bar are celebrating a successful first year in the town.

The Cue and Arrow, based at Leighton Snooker Centre Club on Dudley Road, has established itself as a popular social spot since its opening in the town in December 2024.

To mark the milestone, it held a first anniversary celebration night on December 13, which featured mini-tournaments, family activities and live music.

The Cue and Arrow boasts high-quality pool tables, professional-grade darts lanes and screens showing a range of live sport.

Reflecting on what they called an ‘incredible’ first year, owners Liam and Emma Doherty said: “When we opened the doors, our goal was simple – build a place where people of all ages could enjoy great sport, great company and a real sense of community.

“The response from Leighton Buzzard has been amazing – from family tournaments to match-day crowds, this venue already feels like home to so many.”

Over the course of its first year of opening, The Cue and Arrow has hosted competitive leagues and social events, and has also received accreditation for its darts and pool facilities.

The team already has big plans for next year, including expanded junior programmes, more family-friendly events and the launch of an annual charity tournament to raise funds for youth sports initiatives.

The pub has also submitted a premises licence application to Central Bedfordshire Council, which if granted, will enable the performance of live music at the site every day.

Reflecting on the first year of The Cue and Arrow, town mayor David Bligh, who joined in the celebrations said: “The Cue & Arrow has added something genuinely special to our community.

“It’s far more than a sports club - it’s a social space where families, friends and neighbours connect.

“In just one year it has become a valued part of Leighton Buzzard life, and I look forward to seeing it continue to flourish.”
