Linslade residents at The Wharf claim they are fed up, because far from being signed, sealed and delivered, their mail has been thrown, chucked and muddled up.

People living in the canal-side apartments allege that they recently started experiencing problems with Royal Mail, claiming that parcels and letters have been thrown onto doormats, that letters are being delivered to the wrong numbers, and that mail is left hanging out of letter boxes.

Worried about their security, one woman contacted the LBO on behalf of the other residents.

She claimed: “The mail doesn’t seem to be sorted as you would expect.

“I had a piece the other week that I had to take round to the correct block, but one of my neighbours has taken a picture of every single piece of mail that he received incorrectly. Once he received six or seven pieces of incorrect mail in a short space of time.”

Other residents have taken to social media to complain. One woman stated: “Hello Wharfers...There was a letter posted through our box for West Dock. We’re in East Dock. This is clearly not a mistake and is just utter laziness.”

More worringly, another resident posted: “I have received a letter from HSBC today, welcoming me to my new credit card. Someone has applied in my name and hoped to retrieve the card from my post box before I found it.”

The resident alleged: “They’ve taken to running up to the top of the block and throwing people’s parcels at the flat doors. A lot of people say it’s really scary to suddenly hear a thud against the door.

“We’re told the issues are being looked into but it seems to be getting a bit out of hand.”

They also claim that the Royal Mail arrives late, needing to be buzzed in, and that parcels have been delivered late to other addresses in Linslade.

A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “We apologise to the residents at The Wharf that they have not received the first class service from Royal Mail that we aim to deliver to all our customers. Every item of mail is important to us.
