Temporary traffic lights ruin speed check operation

A police speed check operation in Woburn didn't exactly pan out as planned recently.

Officers carried out enforcement in George Street/London Road, however the parish council, who wanted to gauge the level of law-breaking mototists along the route, has now asked for the results to be disregarded.

Council papers reveal: “This [mobile enforcement] had been installed for a short period but unfortunately on a day when there were temporary traffic lights on the road.

“It was agreed that the clerk should write to Central Beds Council to ask that the data be disregarded as a result and ask if the mobile enforcement unit could be brought back in order to get accurate data.”
