Local and long-distance services through Birmingham New St have been disrupted all morning following the loss of power to signalling equipment south of the station.

A spokesman for London Midland, which runs the London-Northampton route which serves Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, Tring, Cheddington, Leighton Buzzard, Bletchley, Milton Keynes and Wolverton, said: “We apologise to all our passengers affected by this signal failure. We are working to get displaced trains and train crew back into position so that we can start running a full service on all lines as soon as possible. If passengers experience delays of 30 minutes or more we encourage them to claim delay repay compensation. Full details on how to claim are available, along with the latest travel information, on the London Midland app and our website www.londonmidland.com”
