Hatters U18s boss Paul Driver thought his side more than matched Championship outfit Huddersfield during their 3-1 FA Youth Cup defeat on Sunday afternoon.

The game had gone into extra-time after ending 0-0, as Town then led through Zane Banton’s cool finish.

The Terriers hit back to score three times though as Regan Booty’s penalty, plus strikes for Jake Charles and Jack Boyle sent them through.

Driver told the club’s official website: “It’s frustrating to have lost given we had the lead but we acquitted ourselves well.

“Not one single player of ours looked out of their depth.

Huddersfield are at Premier League level in youth team terms so we’re pleased in what we’ve done.”
