Award-winning safety standards at Kiddi Caru Leighton Buzzard
Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool in Leighton Buzzard is proud to announce it has been awarded the prestigious Millie’s Mark accreditation, recognising the nursery’s exceptional commitment to children’s safety and wellbeing.
Millie’s Mark is a nationally recognised award given to early years settings that go above and beyond statutory requirements for first aid training. To achieve this gold‑standard accreditation, 100% of the nursery team are fully trained in paediatric first aid, ensuring they are confident and prepared to respond quickly and effectively in an emergency.
The accreditation honours the legacy of Millie Thompson who passed away after choking on food at a nursery in 2012 when she was just nine months old. Millie’s parents, Dan and Joanne Thompson, founded Millie’s Trust and have successfully campaigned for changes to first aid requirements for childcare providers.
Millie’s Mark reflects a shared commitment across the early years sector to improving safety standards for children. For families, Millie’s Mark offers added reassurance that their child is cared for in a safe, secure and nurturing environment by highly trained childcare professionals.
Health, safety and trust are always a top priority at Kiddi Caru Leighton Buzzard. Achieving Millie’s Mark is one of many ways the nursery demonstrates its ongoing commitment to high‑quality childcare, alongside regular training and professional development to support inspiring learning experiences and every stage of early development.
