Following on from the success of its first two years, the third family-friendly Pride event will be taking place in the High Street from 5pm – 9pm on Friday, 5 June.  The packed entertainment schedule will include The Dolly Tribute Show, Queenz The Show, Mama G and Small Town Boy, bringing huge energy, dazzling costumes and powerful vocals to the stage.

A range of street food will be available from Street Food Heroes and there will also be a range of stalls and local traders. Watch out for the creative window displays and offers from our town centre businesses as well!

On Saturday 6 June, in addition to the bustling Charter Market, we are taking the opportunity to use the stalls and stage to invite local groups, clubs and performers into the town centre.  Whether you’re looking to get involved in a local society, find a new hobby or listen to some great performers, come in to the High Street to enjoy the action. The Community Day will run from early morning until 3pm.

To complete the weekend, the hugely popular Big Lunch Food Festival returns for the 12th year running.  From 11am until 4pm, the town centre will be transformed into a bustling street festival filled with colour, sound and the aromas of food from around the world.

Expect around 30 world cuisines to choose from, along with a licensed bar, seating throughout the High Street and craft activities.  Street theatre will add even more excitement, including a spectacular Chinese Dragon performance weaving through the crowds.

Newly elected Town Mayor Councillor Kevin Pughe said: “I can’t wait for the return of Pride and Big Lunch next weekend, and to see how the new Community Day brings people together. There really is something for everyone across the weekend and I’m looking forward to seeing people enjoying themselves in our wonderful town centre. It’s going to be great fun!”
