Community comes together as Breakfast Club pauses for a short summer break

As The Bedfordshire Band of the Royal British Legion prepares for a busy summer period of community events, it’s time for Breakfast Club to take a short Summer Break - and to celebrate the wonderful season we’ve enjoyed together.

Hosted at The Clay Pipe Pub, Breakfast Club continues to thrive thanks to the outstanding support of Justin and his team, whose warm hospitality creates the relaxed, friendly atmosphere that regulars have come to love. Their commitment to opening the doors early and providing a welcoming space has made the pub a true home for this community tradition.

The Band also extends sincere appreciation to the Leighton Linslade Rotary Club, whose continued support and community spirit add so much to each gathering. Their involvement reflects the shared values of service, friendship, and togetherness that define Breakfast Club.

A special mention goes to Band Chairman, Stuart Clarke, and Band Treasurer, Julie Clarke, whose dedication, organisation, and tireless behind‑the‑scenes work ensure every event runs smoothly. Their commitment to both the Band and Breakfast Club strengthens the bond between the organisation and the wider community, helping this monthly gathering grow into one of Leighton Buzzard’s most cherished fixtures.

Each gathering brings conversation, laughter, and a touch of friendly competition - with congratulations to all the winners of the monthly football game, who now hold bragging rights until the autumn.

The Bedfordshire Band of the Royal British Legion is deeply grateful to everyone who attends, supports, and champions both the Band and Breakfast Club. Your involvement keeps this community tradition thriving and meaningful. As summer arrives, we wish all our supporters a peaceful, enjoyable break with family and friends.

Breakfast Club will return on 12th September 2026, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for more good food, good company, and good conversation.

In the meantime, we look forward to your support at the various community events over the Summer.

Next up is Saturday 4 July, when the Band will be supporting All Saints Church, Leighton Buzzard, for their traditional family‑friendly garden fete. The Band will be performing at various times throughout the day from 10am to 2pm.
