EGG-citing days out! Trips to beat the rising fuel prices, in Bedfordshire, this Easter holiday
With the Easter holidays just around the corner, and the troubled international situation pushing up local fuel prices, a major local bus operator has suggested a range of places to visit, leaving the car at home and not breaking the family budget.
Darren Roe, Managing Director of Stagecoach East, Bedfordshire’s biggest bus operator, said: “The news is now reporting that average diesel prices have gone up by an incredible 20 pence per litre over the past couple of weeks, so a lot of people are looking for different ways to get out and about.

“Fortunately, there are so many wonderful places locally that you can get to by bus, to keep the family entertained. You really can save on fuel by leaving the car at home and sitting back, relaxing and letting the bus take you there and back.”
Stagecoach has recently announced upgrades to its app, allowing customers to make a savvy choice to save money by buying bundles of DayRider tickets. Under the upgraded scheme, discounts of 10%, 20% and 30% are now available, with tickets valid for up to 12 months.

Local areas of interest, this Easter, include:
-- Leighton Buzzard Railway - Bedfordshire's premier heritage railway attraction, running trains along our three-mile line up to five times a week.
-- Luton Point - A new name but still the place to go to shop, meet, eat and enjoy every day.
-- Stockwood Discovery Centre - Delight in the diverse attractions, including a dynamic exhibition line-up, an acclaimed display of carriages, a scenic outdoor play area for children, and stunning walled gardens.

-- Wardown House - Step into the opulent world of a Victorian-era affluent household, where each room resonates with its unique narrative.
-- Whipsnade Zoo - Experience thousands of amazing animals and learn how, as a conservation zoo, Whipsnade is protecting their future.
-- Woburn Safari Park - Bedfordshire wildlife park with more than 75 species of exotic and endangered species.
-- John Bunyan Museum - John Bunyan wrote a book that transformed literature, and inspired people the world over; The Pilgrim’s Progress. Imprisoned for his beliefs, as a prisoner of conscience, his books and personal example helped transform the way ordinary people worshipped, empowering them and their communities.
