The Rushmere Park Academy had a great day celebrating World Book Day. The pupils were excited to wear the T-Shirts that they had made and were keen to show them off to their friends and teachers. Children were asked to design a T-Shirt using their favourite book from home or from the school library and there were many wonderful designs shown.

Many books were read throughout the day, including Jack and The Beanstalk and The Three Little Wolves. Pupils were encouraged to visit the library throughout the day, with year 4 enjoying to read to the younger years.

The Rushmere Park Academy has spent a lot of time investing in their school library, making it a central part of the school where pupils are welcomed in and their love of reading encouraged. As a result, pupils at the school can’t wait to check out their new book for the week, improving their reading abilities and boosting their natural curiosity of the world.
