A decidedly tasty casting stage-steps at Milton Keynes Theatre from Monday, with an Alan Ayckbourn classic to deliver.

With the ridiculously youthful looking Felicity Kendal, Strictly Come Dancing winner Kara Tointon, Downton Abbey star Jonathan Coy and theatre regular Max Bennett handling performance duties, it is a surefire sleek and sensational show waiting to unfurl from 7.30pm nightly.

Relatively Speaking was Ayckbourne’s first show to really dazzled West End audiences, and turned him into a household name.

So, to the plot, we go.

‘Greg only met Ginny a month ago but he has already made up his mind that she’s the girl for him.

When she tells him that she’s going to visit her parents, he decides this is the moment to ask her father for his daughter’s hand.

‘Discovering a scribbled address, he follows her to Buckinghamshire where he finds Philip and Sheila enjoying a peaceful Sunday morning breakfast in the garden.

The only thing is – they’re not Ginny’s parents.’

The Daily Mail consider Relatively Speaking a winning combination and says it is one that ‘clicks and fizzes to the very end.’

And who doesn’t like a little fizz every now and then?

Relatively Speaking shows through to Saturday, May 11.

Additional matinee performances will run on Wednesday and Saturday, at 2.30pm and tickets are £15-£33.50.
