A Bedfordshire Police spokeswoman, said: "After leaving the bike the rider made off from officers over the mini railway tracks opposite the Clay Pipe public house

"The e-bike was seized and will be disposed of."

Bedfordshire Police say that their proactive patrols and targeted operations will continue, as they work to reduce anti-social behaviour, "disrupt" criminal activity, and keep communities safe.

Bedfordshire Police stated: "The riders were reported for a number of driving offences, and the vehicles were removed from the road.

"We would encourage anyone experiencing issues with nuisance bikes to continue reporting incidents to us, as this information helps us identify hotspots and direct our enforcement activity where it is most needed.

"We know how much nuisance bikes can cause alarm, distress and frustration within our communities.

"Not only do they create a significant anti-social behaviour issue through dangerous riding, excessive noise and intimidation, but they are also frequently linked to criminal activity, making local residents feel unsafe in their neighbourhoods."

The force concluded that tackling the illegal use of motorcycles, mopeds and e-bikes remains "a priority" – and officers will continue to take action "whenever opportunities arise".
