Dad Chris told the LBO: “We all miss Hero very much. He’s so friendly, he has a huge personality and is always able to make himself understood.

“He was really supporting Timothy. He would follow him wherever he went and get involved in whatever he was doing, he even sat and listened to the bedtime story with us every night.

“Timothy really struggled with the world around him and Hero has unlocked so much of his personality and made a huge difference to how he manages his behaviours.”

There has been no sign of the cat since he vanished last week and the couple are pleading for his return.

Chris added the cat had opened up a whole new world of communication for his son.
