Christmas Toy Appeal launched by Leighton Buzzard Salvation Army
It may still be 10 weeks away but members of Leighton Buzzard Salvation Army are looking ahead to Christmas.
They’re also looking forward to making it a Christmas to remember for many children by asking for the public’s help to support the charity’s Christmas Toy Appeal.
Last year more than 120 children and young people were gifted toys with the branch hoping the public will be equally generous with donations this year.
The Salvation Army is asking for toys suitable for children up to the age of 16, and these can be dropped off anytime between November 2 and December 12.

Once again, the branch is working with the Nationwide Building Society, which will act as a collection point for toys and gifts, which should be new and unwrapped.
Treasurer Ian Tasker, treasurer said: ”The general public’s help last year was very much appreciated and we are again requesting their support for this year’s appeal.
“But unfortunately, we are unable to give out used gifts no matter how good they look.”
The charity runs its Christmas toy or present appeal across the country, and each year around 68,000 Christmas gifts are shared by the Salvation Army across the UK and Ireland.
